Strawberry Shortcake is a media franchise that originated from a series of greeting cards published by American Greetings bearing the image of the titular character. The line was later expanded to include dolls, clothing, posters, and other products featuring the character, as well as an extended cast of friends and pets. In addition, the franchise has spawned television specials, animated television series and films.

Strawberry Shortcake is a cosplay/ fanart AI assisted photo project made to pay tribute to one of the most iconic cartoon series from the 1980s.

Step into a whimsical berry-filled world inspired by the timeless charm of Strawberry Shortcake. This delightful photo series reimagines the beloved cartoon universe through imaginative cosplay, vintage-inspired costumes, and playful storytelling.

Each portrait captures a different “berry friend” brought to life with oversized fruit hats, striped stockings, pastel studio backdrops, and adorable animal companions — from lambs and pandas to turtles and tiny mice. The collection celebrates innocence, friendship, imagination, and the warm nostalgic spirit of classic children’s cartoons from the 1980s.

Designed as a tribute to the colorful fantasy world of Strawberry Shortcake, the series blends handcrafted cosplay aesthetics with modern AI-assisted fanart techniques to create a dreamy storybook atmosphere. The soft lighting, theatrical styling, and whimsical props give every character their own magical personality, as though they stepped straight out of an enchanted berry village.

From strawberry and blueberry pickers to peach and lemon-inspired characters, the collection feels like pages from a forgotten fairytale — sweet, cheerful, and filled with childhood wonder. The project is both a nostalgic homage and a creative reinterpretation, combining cosplay photography, fantasy costume design, and AI-enhanced visual artistry into a playful celebration of imagination.

For this photo series, I tried to include all the characters I can think of from the original 1980s series, including Banana Twirl and the Banana berrykin...
