On the final night of the Venice Carnevale, when the bells of midnight echoed across the canals, a strange pathway appeared deep within the forgotten gardens beyond the city.

The locals called it The Wonder Dream Path.

Few dared to enter.

Jimmy, however, had always followed impossible things.

Dressed in his velvet coat and emerald face paint, he wandered beneath glowing lanterns and towering mushrooms that shimmered like jewels beneath the moonlight. Tiny golden lights drifted through the air like living stars, and somewhere in the distance, an ancient castle glowed beneath a violet sky.

At his side walked a mysterious woman known only as the Fairy of the Veil.

No one knew where she had come from.

Some whispered she was once a princess trapped between dreams and reality. Others believed she was the guardian spirit of the enchanted forest itself. Her burgundy gown flowed like liquid silk, and her dark veil shimmered with stardust whenever she moved.

Jimmy carried a small wooden puppet in his hand — a puppet said to reveal the truth hidden inside a person’s heart.

“Why did you bring me here?” Jimmy asked softly.

The Fairy smiled but did not answer.

Above them, a crescent moon turned slowly in the sky like the hand of a celestial clock. From the branches overhead, a grinning cat with emerald eyes watched silently, as though it knew every secret ever spoken in the forest.

Then the lanterns began to flicker.

The forest awakened.

The mushrooms glowed brighter. The pathways shifted. Whispering voices drifted through the trees like music from another world.

And suddenly, Jimmy understood.

This was not merely a forest.

It was a place where forgotten dreams came alive.

Every soul who entered was shown the one thing they truly desired — but only if they were brave enough to face themselves first.

The Fairy touched Jimmy’s hand gently.

“You have spent your life hiding behind masks,” she whispered. “But tonight, the forest wishes to know who you really are.”

The puppet in Jimmy’s hand began to move on its own.

Its wooden eyes opened.

And from somewhere beyond the glowing trees, an invisible orchestra began to play a haunting waltz beneath the stars.

Jimmy looked into the Fairy’s eyes and realized she was fading, dissolving slowly into shimmering particles of light.

“You’re leaving…” he said quietly.

“I was never meant to stay,” she replied. “I only guide the lost.”

The Fairy placed a silver key into Jimmy’s gloved hand.

“When the next Carnevale moon rises, follow the lanterns again.”

Then she vanished into the glowing mist.

Only the echo of laughter and the distant music remained.

Jimmy stood alone beneath the enchanted sky, holding the silver key while the forest sparkled around him like a living dream.

And from high in the trees, the mysterious cat smiled wider still.

The Venice Carnevale is not solely about masks. Local Italians and an increasing number of foreign costumers now prefer historical costumes or painted faces. During Carnevale, the whole Venice becomes a real life theatrical stage...Jimmy and the Fairy are a couple doing their version of characters from Pinocchio...
