This is one of the best costumes I have seen at the Venice Carnevale, by British duo Linda and Daniel from Curiosity and Tailor.

They are real costume makers and have a clothing shop in London.

This is their very unique Two Face costume.  The costumers have a real penchant for fusing fantasy and reality and this is their latest creation. I have never seen anything like this before.

Each costume has a very different half to it, just like the famous villain Two Face from DC Comics, and maybe drawing some inspiration from the Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. The novella is frequently interpreted as an examination of the duality of human nature, usually expressed as an inner struggle between good and evil, with variations such as human versus animal, civility versus barbarism sometimes substituted, the main point being that of an essential inner struggle between the one and other, and that the failure to accept this tension results in evil, or barbarity, or animal violence, being projected onto others.

I see it as a form of Dissociative identity disorder (DID), previously known as multiple personality disorder (MPD), with those affected by it characterized by the presence of at least two personality states or "alters". The public's long fascination with DID has led to a number of different books and films such as the cult movie Fight Club and Marvel Comics' Moon Knight..., with many representations described as increasing stigma by perpetuating the myth that people with mental illness are usually dangerous...

I met Linda (Lady Curiosity) and Daniel (Mr. Tailor) on the busy streets of Venice during Carnevale, so I asked them for a few quick photos.

The Venice Carnevale is not solely about masks. Local Italians and an increasing number of foreign participants actually prefer historical costumes or painted faces. During Carnevale, the whole Venice becomes a real life theatrical stage, and many of these historical costumes carry deep perspectives...

And as usual, the portraits are just done on the busy streets of Venice and using natural lighting only...It is not an indoor photo studio, there is no artificial lighting, flash or reflectors...With my costumed friends, we just take our street portraiture to an all new level....
